A road accident

Road accidents are very common these days. Some people drive vehicles very recklessly. Others drive them in a drunken state and cannot easily control them. Yesterday, I was going along the college road on a bicycle.  Suddenly, a car came at full speed. A bus was coming from the opposite side. The car was not following the rules of traffic. It simply rammed into the bus. The driver of the car was killed on the spot. Several passengers in the car were seriously injured. Half of the car was smashed. The injured passengers were taken to the local civil hospital by the police for treatment.

Importance of newspaper

'News' has four letters. These four letters stand for four directions- north, east, west and south. Information that comes from all four directions is given the name 'news'. The paper on which reports or news is printed is called the 'newsprint'. Today, newspapers have become very important. Newspaper in modern society has great social and educative values. The newspaper provides us with the latest information about important political events and topics of general interest. Those of us who are interested in art, music, farming and sports can also find enough materials in newspapers. So, newspapers have great value in our lives.

The pen is mightier than the sword is a famous saying. It describes the power of writing. A pen can attain a lot more than a sword. The power of writing age everlasting while the power of the sword is short-lived. For example, the achievements of great rulers may end up forgotten. But, the great preaching and writings of thinkers and writers have lasting effects that live forever in minds of the people. It is the largest democratic nation in the world. Democracy in India gives its citizens the right to vote irrespective of their caste, colour, creed, religion and gender. India is a sovereign socialist, secular, democratic republic. Democracy in India is not just about giving people the right to vote but safeguarding equality in all the domains of life.

Importance of festivals

India is a land of festivals. There are many festivals and they are celebrated throughout the year. This is due to the diverse population with multiple ethnicity and religion.
